As a guest artist, Chase Sanborn offers powerful and refined trumpet playing; a wealth of professional experience; a unique ability to express complex ideas in a simple way; a sense of humor; and a pure and simple joy for passing on information about the music he loves. Chase encourages students to become the best musicians they can be by letting them experience how much fun it can be. There are usually a few laughs at a Chase Sanborn session, along with inspiration and encouragement for everyone.

Clinics

Chase offers well-structured and entertaining clinics on Jazz Improvisation, Brass Playing, Intonation, Big Bands, General Musicianship, and the Music Business.

Booking Chase Sanborn As A Guest Artist

Bookings are handled directly through Chase. A typical guest artist appearance involves anywhere from a day to a week of clinics, rehearsals and performances. The first step is simply to send an email, expressing interest. Briefly describe what you have in mind and when. That opens the dialog on fees, expenses, schedule and other questions. Don’t worry if the funding is not in place yet, simply getting the ball rolling is the key to making it happen!

Chase is a Yamaha Artist, and co-sponsorship may be possible. At a Yamaha-sponsored appearance, costs are typically shared three ways: between Yamaha, a local dealer, and the host organization. If you would like to apply for sponsorship, contact your local Yamaha dealer with a proposal and a specific request. Provide information about who will attend the event and the budget, as well as what you are seeking in sponsorship. Once you have a commitment from a local dealer, they can help you request funding from Yamaha.

Repertoire

When appearing as a guest artist with a big band, Chase is happy to play on charts you already have in your book. He also has a hand-picked selection of charts by Canadian writers that are available via PDF download for a nomimal fee, which goes directly to the writers. These are wonderful arrangements that are not in general circulation. This is a way to add unique repertoire to your book while supporting very talented arrangers and composers.

For small group performances, most standard tunes are fine. Chase can provide lead sheets for any of the tunes on his CDs.
