CHASE SANBORN BIO (longer)

Jazz trumpeter Chase Sanborn is originally from the NY area, and an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Currently based in Canada, Chase is a mainstay of the bustling music scene in Toronto. A veteran session musician, Chase has played on hundreds of commercial recording dates and logged many hours in the orchestra pit for Broadway musicals. He has toured with Ray Charles, and appeared with Aretha Franklin, Diana Krall and many other jazz and pop artists.

Chase has released five CDs under his own name. His latest, Double Double, features Chase in duo setting with pianist Mark Eisenman. Reviewer Geoff Chapman writes: “The duo answers the challenges, performing with sure-handed panache and passion. Impeccably done.”

A dedicated and celebrated music educator, Chase Sanborn is a member of the jazz faculty at the University of Toronto and travels frequently to appear as a clinician and guest artist.
