Jazz trumpeter Chase Sanborn is originally from the NY area, and an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Currently based in Canada, Chase is a mainstay of the bustling music scene in Toronto. A veteran session musician, Chase has played on hundreds of commercial recording dates and logged many hours in the orchestra pit for Broadway musicals. He has toured with Ray Charles, and appeared with Aretha Franklin, Diana Krall and many other jazz and pop artists.
His latest CD, ‘Perking UP’, features Chase in duo and trio settings. Reviewer Geoff Chapman writes: “Chase Sanborn’s latest disc is illuminated by sublime statements and moments of aching poignancy. Creativity is front and center here.”
A dedicated and celebrated music educator, Chase Sanborn is a member of the jazz faculty at the University of Toronto, and maintains a busy travel schedule, appearing as a clinician and guest artist.
